Hello,

Had my first real day of work today. Everyone is pretty cool. Jason, my boss guy, is very knowledgable and really has a handle on the fire alarm system down here.

Visted the waste water facility along with the fire station to replace some batteries that met the end of their lives.

Monica and I just had dinner then back to the room for some relaxation.

Suprisingly, McMurdo has a lot of activities to become involved with in your off hours. More on this later.

Well, this update has been boring as hell. More exciting news and pictures to come.

Lackey - Out!

I can't believe it! I found the blog! Cool idea. Im really interested in hearing about Monica's job and what all she is doing. Like how many people do they cook for and how big are the freezers and do they ever get fresh fruit and vegi's or all canned? Will she get to cook or bake? How many people get fed each meal and how big is the equipment? Do they use recipes or wing it? I just noticed I have to get an account to send this so.....

Hi Paul and Monica,
I sent a letter to you guys today. I brought it to the post office because I was'nt sure how much it would cost. It cost's .89 to send a letter to my friend in South Australia. Much to my surprise to send a letter to the South Pole only is the cost of a regular stamp. So that some interesting news for ya!
I wish my camera was working so I could send a guys a photo of this 50ft deep trench outside my front door!
Take Care, Keep Warm!

You guys! This is so awesome! So glad you arrived safe and can't wait to hear about your adventures! Paul, glad you got a taste of New Zealand... Bob and I think we might be there next summer - maybe we can meet up? That would be great! Keep posting. I love it! Snowed here - A-Basin is open - but you aren't missing anything - Colorado is missing you guys. Stay as warm as you can and know that we are thinking of you!
